Priya Rampal is a Research Fellow in the Agri-Team at ICRIER. She works in the agriculture sustainability, productivity and profitability vertical.She worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and International Business in the School of Business Studies at Sharda University from August 2018 to August 2020.Previously she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai where she worked on aUKAid funded project called Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA). Here she conducted secondary research on the production and consumption of pulses as well as consumption of proteins from animal and plant sources in India. She has obtained her PhD at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai. Priya has also worked extensively on agriculture, health and livestock insurance at a research centre in the Institute for Financial Management and Research, Chennai, involving qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis along with field work from July 2009 to November 2011. Her research interests include agriculture, nutrition, agriculture-nutrition linkages, sustainable agriculture, microfinance, and education.
